It's always a load of laughs . . . .

The challenge this month for the Scrapbooking Challenge over at H2H is April Fool's . . . something funny and using twine.

Well if you've ever witnessed my family and I on vacation together for more than 5 minutes you'll know I had ample situations to meet the funny requirement. it was choosing just one that would be hard.

I finally settled on these pictures from San Fransisco if you look carefully at the photos you'll see my sister in the background of the 1st photo, then my Aunt, and myself take turns. So my son thought it would be funny to call this the amazing swapping Aunts.

Here is the link to see more Funny twine H2H.

For this layout I used Sweet leaf and Lagoon Cardstock and ink.  As well as gypsy and honey ink.  The Jubilee and Timberline paper packs. The dots and Chevron embossing folders. Glitter trim in gold and Lagoon.  Honey and lagoon Washi tape and last but not least Twine.

The color dare this week is the Arianna Paper Pack I immediately thought of this image from the Compliments package when I saw the sketch so this card came together in moments.

Once upon a time . . . .

Over at H2H the challenge is Once Upon a Time . . . . well with a teenage boy I do not have too many opportunities these days to scrap such a imaginative concept.  But wait it was like a fairytale to me when he finally liked a girl enough not only to go to the dance but even take a picture with her. So I pulled out my pictures and got scrappy.

I was over joyed when his friend said she was going to wear purple (my Fav) I knew the Laughing Lola Paper pack was what I would use.  I also used the Stamp of the month Balloon Talk perfect for these friends I also used sparkle flourishes with gypsy and lagoon inks.

HE is RISEN !!!!!!

This is a banner that I made for this Holy Day and Celebration.  I pray that your faith is strengthened and that the remembrance of the sacrifice Christ made for you touches your heart in a fresh way today.

For this banner I used lots of ribbon I had picked up from the dollar bin at Micheal's.  I also used Sky, Lagoon, Smoothie, Honey, Gypsy, Sweet Leaf, Sunset cardstock and inks as well as White daisy cardstock.  Each egg shape and letters was cut out using my Art Philosophy Cartridge and then embossed using one of the 5 embossing folders CTMH carries.  I love this and plan to use this banner for many years to come.  One of the challenges over at H2H is a Cricut challenge so I project fits the bill nicely to be inspired by the other Cricut projects follow this link H2H

More Easter Candle holders

I just can't stop embellishing these little glass candle holders!!!! I think I like these better than the 1st set.  I think it's because they remind me of cracking eggs but I'm not sure. What I am sure about is that I love the ease of using washi and it's temporarily reposishonable !!!! So it's easy to smooth out any ripples or kinks.

Maundy Thursday . . .

So today is Maundy Thursday which is the day Christ was tried and beaten.  It can be a sad day to think about the sacrifice he made for us.  It can also be a joyful time in the church I worship in it is also the day our confirmads take communion for the 1st time!  this card is for a special young lady that I have mentoring that is taking her 1st Communion today.  These spunky colors definitely remind me of this young ladies bright personality.

For this card I used Sweet Leaf and Juniper which happen to be part of the challenge this week over at H2H here is the link to see the other great creations .H2H Challenges

Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Juniper . . .

This week over at color dare the challenge is Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Juniper not colors I usually use but lovely just the same!  For those of you that check in on my blog regularly you know I've been trying to power through scrapping my families trip to SF a few years ago BEFORE we take this years trip.  Shh I'm choosing to forget about that trip in between to Mt. Rushmore I still haven't scrapped all those pics either! (baby steps ; )  so these bright colors where just what I needed to get some pics in the books.  I also have been using the ALOT of the layouts from Creative Scrappers they are hip, fun, and funky just like my family.  So here is the sketch I followed this time . . .

And here is my take on the sketch. . .

Here is a 4x6 title card inspired by the colors and the Picture My Life sets from CTMH to help tie my focus page in with the page on the left.

Here is the finished layout!!! woo-hoo

If you'd LOVE to be inspired by either of these challenges or both just like me follow these links.  Creative Scrappers and or Color My Heart Color Dare.

Washi Tape Blog Hop

Welcome to the Washi tape blog hop!!!! I'm glad you join us to be inspired by the wonderfully creative world of washi!!!! If you've hopped here from Keeley Kirwan's blog you are on the right path !!!

Here are two of the candle holders I made to decorate my Easter table with Sunday.  I had a few different sizes and shapes of plain glass candle holders that came from the dollar store.  I used washi tape to cover them to take them from ordinary to personalized and extraordinary!!!! If you'd like to make these or some just like them with your own pazaz just seal the washi tape with hodge podge to make it a permanent splash of color to your décor.

Thanks for hopping by . . . . Now it is time to hop over to Katy Taylor's blog for more WONDERFUL WASHI inspirations!!!!

Tax Day . . .

I've been working on some wonderful washi projects and it hit me that Tax Day was right around the corner and that I had a different post for that day so this is a little early but I wanted to commemorate TAX DAY or rather month wit ha Tax free purchase that is right all orders submitted before the 30th of April wil be tax free.

So here is a two page layout using washi tape as the focus of the background. I also used the spritz bottles with a few drops of reinker and a drop or two of create a shade pearl paint.

Her is a close up of the spritzing.....I love the subtle way this adds shimmer and color to a page.
