Earlier this month the challenge at H2H was 2 faced . . . .well meaning both sides of B&T papers that is so I immediately thought of this technique which also happens to be one of the cards for the Lollydoodle swap I joined as well as the February card class I'm teaching.

If you'd love to have some 2 faced inspiration here is the link H2H.

Huntington Card

This is one of the cards from the Huntington swap.  I love the way she used the burlap ribbon and layered the paper and bling on top to add dimension and depth to this card.

This is a 12 x 12 just waiting for photo's and journaling.

H2H Scrap Challenge for 2014 !!!!!

Woo hoo !!!! I am so glad H2H is having scrap challenges again and I know I'm not the only one who is excited.  I love looking at and being inspired by the other submissions and well I love the challenge it has definitely help me stay inspired to scrap all the pictures I take.

So the challenge this month is sentimental.  Here are the guidelines as posted on H2H . . .
Our January challenge is Sentimental January.
           * 12" x 12" page Layouts involving a sentimental moment with friends, family, or pets (past or present)
           * Must use a CTMH Exclusive Stamp Set featuring a sentiment and let's see some journaling.
           * At least 1 photo required

What was that little blurb "let's see some journaling" ??? O the unjustness . . . .   ok I'm kidding but "showing my journaling" is the challenge for me.  I try NOT to need to journal because I do not care for my hand writing so just for my gal pals over at H2H I challenged my self to include a journaling box.  So I used the other side of my BIRTHDAY layout from earlier this week.  Here is my layout . . . .

What you do not see the journaling box ???? Well I thought I'd share a handy tip for gals like me because it seems wherever I am I hear the same quandary from a lot of crafters.  Journaling is not as easy as it seems.   So my tip is to make a "POCKET" for your journaling so whatever your hang up is with journaling . . .(takes up too much space, I feel cheesy writing this stuff down, I do not like my handwriting etc.)   My personal favorite "POCKET" is to turn s photo in to the pocket.

Here is a close up .  I only use adhesive on three of the 4 sides. Then cut the journaling box 1 inch smaller than the photo box to allow easy sliding.  Finally I like to add a little bling to use as a pull tab and draw attention to the "Hidden Journaling"

Here is the link to H2H to see all the Sentimental inspiration this month .

Something New . . . .

I'm starting 2014 off with a BANG!!!! I have a lot to be thankful for closing out 2013 and needed a dozen or so thank you cards to send out to loved ones.  So I grabbed my paper bestie Laughing Lola and a little inspiration from the post challenge over at H2H.  The 1st challenge of 2014 is to use something NEW well what could be newer than my Cloud 9 goodies?

Both of these cards are 4 x 5.5 using the thanks sentiment from the Cloud 9 set as well as the lagoon shimmer trim. The ink is gypsy

Here is the link to H2H if you want to play along or just be inspired in a new and fresh way.

Cloud Nine Blog Hop - Papercrafting Month 2014

So this blog hop is to feature the Cloud Nine Paper Crafting Month Special offered by Close to my Heart .... If you've hopped here from Lalia Harris's Blog you are on the right path.

Get the exclusive Cloud Nine cardmaking kit for $15 (retail value $46) with a qualifying purchase (anything in the Autumn/Winter 2013 catalog) of $35 (excluding tax and shipping) during January in celebration of National Papercrafting Month.

I was inspired the versatility of these stamps to make cards again and again and then I thought what about scrap booking?  The kit comes with 3 sneak peek items not available for purchase separately till February.  A FULL roll of the Gold Spotted washi tape and a FULL roll of the sneak peek Teal Shimmer Trim and a Complete set of Durable Triangle studs.  So after I made my cards I used the extra products to add that special something to my layout.  As you know the stamp set coordinates with the Artiste Cricut Cartridge so I just whipped out some extra cuts and viola.  My 1st layout for 2014.

Thanks for checking out my website now it is time to hop on over to Judy Faye Garner's Blog for more cloud nine crafts
