Scholastic Swap

Well this week over at Heart to Heart they have a back to school challenge and I so happen to have a back to school swap ready for the mail.

This is what I made for a swap. I have used the new cranberry twine to accent and define photo areas on the left. That photo area is also a pocket to place little mementos; I think a copy of my guys schedule and his Id are heading in to that little hiding spot. I also used the Cricut Artiste cartridge to create a journaling area and the Title. The title is really a focal point too. Here is a close up of the Liquid glass and the Glitz Glitter to really help it POP!

I also used my scoring pad to give this panel texture to mimic the star milestone shape.

And last but not least EVERYTHING is distressed with ink.  I really hope all the ladies that recieve this layout LOVE it as much as I do.  Head on over to Heart 2 Heart to see the other insipring ideas!

Quick Encouraging Back to School Note

I like to put a little note of encouragement in my kid's lunch box from time to time just to let him know I'm praying for him during a big test or whatever is going on in his life. I especially like to make a card on the 1st day of school however life has been SO crazy lately.  I found myself in my craft room while he is in the shower and no card or inspiration to speak of . . . . what can a crafty momma do?  Well I'll tell you I had some scraps leftover from my end of the year thank you notes. (I think the colors work for a teenager) So I just cut out a banner with the New cricut Artiste cartridge and changed the sentiment to fit the occasion.  Not bad if I do say so myself in less than 10 min.  If you'd like to see the original card here is the link Original Card Thanks for checking my blog : )

Masculine It's your day

Well I thought from now on (or at least until life gets overwhelming) I'm going to let them know when something touches my heart (I'm sure they here enough complaints)

Close to my Heart Celebrates National Stamping Month

Close to my Heart Celebrates National Stamping Month wit ha deal a double stamp set for $5 with a $35 purchase before shipping and tax.  So this is the big day the blog hop goes live to see all the creative things we have crafted.  If you hopped here from Beth Naumann  you are in the right place if you are starting here that's great too just hop along with us and if you get lost along the way check here Kathleen Androlewicz for a list of all the hoppers. So now on to the stamp set . . . .

These are all 48 of the stamps that come in the set.  I chose to make my own cardstock so it would match my theme and with clear stamps it is a snap! I just chose my color palette (brights are my thing) and some of my favorite images from the set (narrowing it down was tricky) The rest couldn't be more easy; with clear blocks I just lined up my stamps and voila personalized cardstock.  We "Rode the Rock" earlier this spring so the bike motif was PERFECT!

Here is the finished cardstock and my layout.  I used Liquid glass to give my title that lovely glossy look and Glitz Glitter Gel to make my "rock" SPARKLE.

Also I wanted to draw your attention to the "Don't quote me on that" tag my journaling is tucked away in a pocket behind the main photo the tab was made using my new Cricut Artiste cartridge.

Now hop on over to Judy Faye Garner for more creative inspiration.  Oh and don't forget to check back for the cards I've created too.

You are out of this WORLD!!!!!

This weeks challenge over at Heart to Heart is to USE it up!!!! Use up those scraps so I have a wee bit of paper leftover from the Spring/Summer catalog that I really did not have a plan for BUT I wanted to use some of the NEW goodies in the Autumn/Winter catalog.  SOOOOO this is what I came up with . . . . . Florentine B&T Duos with the New Cricut Artiste Voila!

I liked the way this turned out SO much I decided to include it in a swap I joined.   Since the paper is still in the catalog on pg 69.  I also used Liquid glass on the rings, glittzy glitter to underline the sentiment, and a sparkle.

So if you are looking for more scraptastic inspiration head over to http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2012/07/its-scraps-challenge.html and check out the other GREAT submissions.

Water Challenge

We took a trip to the dunes this weekend and my kiddo and I took a GREAT pic on top of Tower hill.  However I'd like to keep all of your computer screens from breaking by NOT posting it because we are in our swim suits. YIKES!!! So just imagine a teenage boy and his momma in a 4x6 photo on the white mount. This layout was taken from pg 77 of the Autumn/Winter 2012 catalog.  All my bling in the corners is supposed to mimic bubbles?  What do you think does it work ?

This is another H2H challenge so follow this link to see the other GREAT projects! http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2012/07/h2h-challenge-water-fun.html
