H2H Scrap Challenge for 2014 !!!!!

Woo hoo !!!! I am so glad H2H is having scrap challenges again and I know I'm not the only one who is excited.  I love looking at and being inspired by the other submissions and well I love the challenge it has definitely help me stay inspired to scrap all the pictures I take.

So the challenge this month is sentimental.  Here are the guidelines as posted on H2H . . .
Our January challenge is Sentimental January.
           * 12" x 12" page Layouts involving a sentimental moment with friends, family, or pets (past or present)
           * Must use a CTMH Exclusive Stamp Set featuring a sentiment and let's see some journaling.
           * At least 1 photo required

What was that little blurb "let's see some journaling" ??? O the unjustness . . . .   ok I'm kidding but "showing my journaling" is the challenge for me.  I try NOT to need to journal because I do not care for my hand writing so just for my gal pals over at H2H I challenged my self to include a journaling box.  So I used the other side of my BIRTHDAY layout from earlier this week.  Here is my layout . . . .

What you do not see the journaling box ???? Well I thought I'd share a handy tip for gals like me because it seems wherever I am I hear the same quandary from a lot of crafters.  Journaling is not as easy as it seems.   So my tip is to make a "POCKET" for your journaling so whatever your hang up is with journaling . . .(takes up too much space, I feel cheesy writing this stuff down, I do not like my handwriting etc.)   My personal favorite "POCKET" is to turn s photo in to the pocket.

Here is a close up .  I only use adhesive on three of the 4 sides. Then cut the journaling box 1 inch smaller than the photo box to allow easy sliding.  Finally I like to add a little bling to use as a pull tab and draw attention to the "Hidden Journaling"

  1. Awesome layout. Great Hidden Journal tag too. Use them myself most of the time.
I too do not like my hand writing, but for this one spacial layout I did it. My girls always like my handwriting and my Mother-in-Law was a hand writer of notes and letters and said we need to share hand writing. Future generations may all be computerized and family needs to know what it looks like...LOL!
Glad you came and shared. Thanks for the excitement too.
